Hannah is an Emmy-winning journalist and michiganrealty.org contributor. She brings 13 years of experience as a news anchor/reporter/multimedia journalism to the team. Hannah has lived and traveled throughout the state, country and world while working covering stories at FOX 2 Detroit, WZZM 13 Grand Rapids, WNEM Saginaw/Flint, WILX/FOX 47 in Lansing and FOX 6 Milwaukee. Highlights include a trip to Cuba to feature Detroit-made classic cars, in-depth reporting on animal cruelty cases and oil pipeline safety in the Great Lakes. She was honored with the coveted regional Edward R. Murrow for hard news reporting for coverage on panhandling. She has also been part of covering major events including the Flint water crisis, several presidential and local campaigns, “big three” union negotiations and two mass shootings in Wisconsin. She was also honored by the American Legion for “media excellence” for her coverage of veterans struggling with PTSD. She earned her B.A. in Journalism from Michigan State University in 2011, where she spent several years interning in local news and sports. She also volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Red Cross, Salvation Army and Oakland County Faith in Action as a guest dancer and judge. Hannah is passionate about Detroit’s comeback. She was born and raised in Oakland County where she developed a passion for Michigan parks and lakes, as well as the rich history and culture of city life. Do not tell her the Lions are not headed to the Super Bowl, she won’t listen. She’s equally passionate about it being “pop,” not soda. Her favorite pastime is making new memories with family. She enjoys networking with people from all backgrounds to provide you with a variety of stories about what makes Michigan great. Is there a place or people you would like us to feature?
